It’s a week of twisted reality as we ask “What if…” and let our imaginations answer.
As a genre, speculative fiction encompasses sci-fi, fantasy, horror, detective stories, the paranormal, superhero characters, and even some historical fiction (hi there, Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter!). We’ll get an overview of the genre, then spend each day learning about and writing in the styles of its different branches.
Open to incoming 7th–12th graders.
Dates: June 8–12, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
