Writing Sucks: The Five-Paragraph Essay Class (Fall 2025)
Even the best students are challenged by the mysteries of the five-paragraph essay. What’s the point of it? Why do I repeat the information in the introduction in the conclusion? How can I form my thesis when I’m still not sure what I’m writing about?
Mrs. Kristin is great at five-paragraph essays. In these four, 90-minute sessions, she’ll demystify the purpose and process of five-paragraph essays and teach students how to plan their projects so they don’t get overwhelmed. Each session will focus on a different part of the essay, and all writing will be done in class.
Open to 6th–12th graders.
4 sessions, 90 minutes
Tuesdays, 7:00–8:30 p.m.
October 28; November 4, 11, 18
