15 Ways to Start a Story: Middle & High School Creative Writing Camp (Summer 2025)

$200.00

We’re punching writer’s block in the face this summer with a fast-paced, prompt-based, absolutely wild creative writing camp that encourages kids to shake off the limits of what they’ve done in the past and embrace the messiness of the first draft.

During each two-hour class, we’ll tackle three different writing prompts. Writers will have a lot of leeway about what (genre, form, topic) they write, but you always get bonus points for trying something new. Attendees will walk away with new friends, a stack of new story ideas, and, yes, 15 techniques for starting a story.

Open to rising 7th–12th graders.

Dates: June 9–13, 1:30–3:30 p.m.
